Spotify have just announced the launch of the "Spotify Audience Network" which is "a first-of-its-kind audio advertising marketplace in which advertisers of all sizes will be able to connect with listeners consuming a broad range of content", apparently.

In essence they're going to make it easier for brands to get their audio ads in the ears of their target market. Happy times. But how much should we B2B marketers care about all this?

Quite a lot, we reckon.

B2B is still P2P after all, and with "business" being one of the biggest categories for podcasts this'll open up a whole new channel to get a brand and a message in the ears of "business people".

We're seeing more and more TV ads from B2B brands hit the airwaves recently, and we're willing to bet we'll be hearing B2B audio ads in the very near future. It'll be interesting to see who'll be the first...
